Buenas, tengo una tarjeta nvidia y una vez instalado compiz settings manager en efectos visuales no me deja cambiar a extra o personalizado, me dice que no puede ser activado, tengo 3D y aparentemente todo bien pero no tengo ningun efecto, ni cubo, ni escritorios......

Revisa la configuración de tu servidor gráfico, el fichero :



Normalmente solo se agregan opciones, como RenderAccel o AIGLX.

Compiz y/o Beryl exigen modificaciones dentro de este fichero, dentro de los foros ya existen guias para configurarlo. Asi que, ha buscar.

Mira que encontre este, donde esta una configuración del fichero en cuestión, no te fijes en las dependencias, ya que son para Slackware.

Pero la configuración es correcta, ya la probé.

Nada, meti las lineas de RenderAccel y AIGLX y me jodio la resolucion. Pongo el xorg a ver

A ver si alguien sabe por que me sale el error, llevo meses intentandolo y no lo consigo, tutoriales y tutoriales, cambie la grafica de ati a nvidia y aun nada

La opcion AIGLX, yo por lo menos no he tenido que añadirla

Nada sigue sin ir, me sigue dando el mismo error y no me deja cambiar los efectos visuales

Tienes instalados los drivers para tu tarjeta, Ubuntu te permite instalar tal software de manera automática o manual. Dentro de los foros de Ubuntu en español existe mucha documentación sobre la instalación.

Debes verificar que tienes la aceleración gráfica activada, asi tambien como las dependencias necesarias para compiz.

Si si tengo aceleracion y todo lo correspondiente a compiz por eso no se por que no me va............el error es el que comente, no me deja cambiar los efectos y me saca el mensaje.......

Desktop effects could not enabled, algo asi

Puede que no sea la solucion, pero prueba a reinstalar el driver

Ya probe tambien jeje, desintale el driver, compiz y lo volvi a poner todo....reinstale.......na de na jeje.......con la ati de antes me lo esperaba pero con nvidia esperaba que funcionase

La tarjeta es una Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro

y luego actualiza "libberyldecoration", todo funciona correctamente.

PD: No soy usuario de Ubuntu, uso Slackware, aunque he dado soporte sobre la primera con éxito.
