El problema que tengo es que desde que tenga esta tarjeta de video (Intel G41), he intentado hacerla funcionar al 100% en varias distribuciones (ej: arch, debian, ubuntu) y no he podido...

Sin embargo cuando instalé Linux Mint me di cuenta que me la configuraba automaticamente, y no necesitaba instalar nada y ya estaba andando al 100%!

Así que me pregunté, quizá deba ver aspectos de configuración de la tarjeta (automaticamente configurada) en Mint, para tomar ideas y podes configurarla en otras distro, así que decidí ver el xorg.conf para ver qué driver utilizaba, y me encontré con que Linux Mint, por defecto, no usa un archivo xorg.conf, entonces, ¿cómo podría saber más acerca de cómo y por qué funciona bien mi tarjeta en Mint, para poder sacar alguna idea de como hacerla funcionar en otras distros?

Actualmente casi ninguna distribución utiliza el archivo xorg.conf, todo depende de hal y eso se da siempre, lo que si hay que ver que drivers esta queriendo utilizar.-
lsmod para ver si carga algo de intel
Otra posible solución crear un xorg.conf, con el siguiente comando, X --configure, y ver que hace cuando lo corres al xorg que te va a generar.-

tuve una portatil con esa tarjeta de video , dice algo con que el soporte esta malo o algo asi ,si me dices que en mint funciona la cargare
